June 16, 2020 - Carlos Gatti, a junior biomedical engineering major, is building a 桃汁影院 student organization that provides affordable assistive devices to people in need. The team is designing a device for a client who plays the cello and one for a client who wants help with tasks such as cooking.

June 4, 2020 鈥� Responding to industry demand for workers with specialized skills, 桃汁影院 is now offering a graduate certificate in computational data science.

June 2, 2020 - In March when Ascension Via Christi needed stethoscopes, its usual supply chains had dried up. 桃汁影院 engineers, working as part of the newly formed Ad Astra Coalition, quickly established a new supply chain to address the urgent need.

May 13, 2020 - Claudia Rojo graduates this spring and will begin a graduate research assistantship at the National Institute for Aviation Research while finishing her final season of outdoor track eligibility in 2021. Rojo, like all seniors in spring sports, was granted the option to extend their eligibility after the COVID-19 pandemic cancelled spring sports. In 2019, she finished second in the heptathlon in the American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships.

May 13, 2020 -- In the latest U.S. News and World Report rankings of universities offering a Ph.D. in engineering, the College of Engineering at 桃汁影院 is again ranked in the top 100 engineering graduate programs, the only institution from the state of Kansas to make it in the top 100.

March 12, 2020 鈥� Abel Barraza hasn鈥檛 shied away from challenges during his time at 桃汁影院. The first-generation college student from Dodge City not only undertook a rigorous curriculum that included fluid mechanics and calculus, but he also served as president of his fraternity during his demanding senior year.

May 12, 2020 鈥� 桃汁影院's Team Wire Pullers has advanced to the national competition in the Koch Innovation Challenge. The team 鈥� comprised of Braden Botkin, a sophomore in engineering technology; Adam Brown, a freshman in engineering; and Nicholas Ridpath, a freshman in applied computing 鈥� created a magnetic device to make pulling wires through walls easier.

May 11, 2020 -- Students in the Service in Learning Engineering class have found a way to help Kansas Girl Scouts earn their STEM badges from home.

May 7, 2020 -- For the fourth consecutive time, the 桃汁影院 College of Engineering鈥檚 NASA in Kansas program has secured a multi-year, multi-million-dollar grant. The latest four-year award is for $2.8 million.

May 5, 2020 鈥� Scraping frost from your automobile windshield before you can safely drive can be time-consuming and unpleasant, but a new device called Shiver could make it a little easier. WSU engineering students Rafael Bini Leite and Jefferson Vieira are developing a device that attaches to the windshield and has built-in sensors capable of detecting ice on the windshield, allowing motorists to clean and remove it effortlessly before it builds up.

April 20, 2020 -- Aidan Jude 鈥� a spring 2020 桃汁影院 graduate in electrical engineering, computer engineering and mathematics 鈥� will be embarking on a full-time career as a software engineer for Amazon web services in July.

April 16, 2020 -- Many 桃汁影院 freshmen enter college with undecided majors. WSU offers programs that expose students to different fields of work so they will be informed when deciding on their major. One of these programs is the Summer Research Institute.

April 10, 2020 - 桃汁影院 computer science major Dexter Gerig placed first in the Individual Event of the National Cyber League competition.The cybersecurity competition, over two days and eight hours, involved a series of 40 challenges with 155 questions.

April 9, 2020 - 桃汁影院 faculty, staff and students are helping each other deal with the pandemic. Whether it's a fun Zoom meeting, a phone call or help with a technology question, examples are abundant of people working together in a difficult time.

April 2, 2020 - 桃汁影院 softball pitcher Caitlin Bingham is sewing protective masks for medical personnel during the COVID-19 pandemic.

March 30, 2020 - The relationship between 桃汁影院's College of Engineering and the Wichita Police Department led to 3D printing of face shields used by first responders.

The 桃汁影院 Dorothy and Bill Cohen Honors College is proud to announce eight recipients of the Koch Scholars program for the fall 2020 semester. Each of the students will receive between $30,000 and $45,000 during their four-year attendance at WSU.

March 11, 2020 -- Three 桃汁影院 researchers and a student group have been awarded the John A. See Innovation Award.

Feb. 26, 2020 -- 桃汁影院 and WSU Ventures have entered into a new strategic partnership with California-based Lightning Diversion Systems, a Ducommun Company. The partnership involves the exclusive licensing of a lightning strike protection system for rotor blades in the wind turbine industry.

Feb. 20, 2020 -- Dane Laughlin started working for INVISTA, Koch Industries鈥� textiles, polymers, fiber and resin producer, while he was a biomedical engineering student at 桃汁影院 and got hired on full time after graduating in May 2019.

Feb. 7 2020 -- Ten high school seniors have won the 2020 Wallace Scholarship in engineering to attend 桃汁影院.

Feb. 5, 2020 -- Thanks to a generous gift from utility company Evergy, students in the College of Engineering at 桃汁影院 can learn about and conduct research on solar power technology, as well as how to protect an electric grid from short circuiting.

Jan. 31, 2020 -- 桃汁影院 has selected the 2020 recipients of the Harry Gore Memorial Scholarships. Each student will receive a $64,000 scholarship to attend 桃汁影院 in August 2020.
